FAQs

Q: Will our staff have to learn another program to use your online IEP system?

A: No, IEP.web uses the state approved forms and converts them to be accessed via the Internet and look exactly as they do in printed form. Your staff already knows what information goes on each form. Only the process of accessing the forms and saving the data requires training and, in most cases that is
one 90 minute training session.

Q: How are K-12 products different from PowerSchool, SASI, Starbase and other Student Information Systems?

A: These system, in general, do not maintain the detailed special education information required by the state and federal government.
Student information systems manage data collected for all students, including classes, attendance, transportation, etc. K-12 RoundUp is dedicated to managing information relative to Special Education students and their specific requirements, including reporting to state and federal agencies.

Q: How does a district generate report information regarding their Special Ed students?

A: RoundUp has many reports pre-configured, based on the consensus of our 12 years experience with CT districts. As a relational database, RoundUp also has the capacity to modify and create reports to meet your specific requirements, as well as those of the state.

Q: How does our information get to the state SEDAC site?

A: From your IEP.web connection, whoever you select as your local Administrator will be able to pre-test and upload all data required by the state.
The includes Grants, as well as CAPT and CMT information.

Q: When the State Department of Education changes or adds new forms, how do K-12 districts get those forms?

A: Any changes or additions made by your state education agencies are made by K-12 on our servers so that all districts have access to these changes and additions within 48-72 hours of their release by the state.

Q: If our district uses forms in addition to those the state approves, can we still use them online?

A: K-12 can modify or copy your district specific forms for a nominal fee and give you access to them via the Internet.

Q: How long will it take to implement a RoundUp Special Ed system?

A: Once an agreement is signed, we convert your Special Ed student data to RoundUp format, then train your administrative staff. These initial steps normally take about two weeks. The time for training the rest of the staff to use IEP.web depends on the number of people to be trained and your district’s computer lab facilities. Most districts became fully functional within 1-2 months.

Q: Who will train and support the Special Ed staff?

A: Included in the initial year’s fees, K-12 provides onsite training for administrative staff using RoundUp and your IEP.web users. We are also available to train new staff as they are hired on a per diem basis. Telephone support is included at no additional cost.

Q: What are the additional hardware requirements for using RoundUp?

A: If you choose to have K-12 host your Special Ed system, there are no additional hardware requirements. Your administrative staff will need access to the Internet to make the remote connection to RoundUp and staff needing to enter IEP forms information will need an Internet connection with the latest versions of Internet Explorer, Safari for Mac users and Adobe Acrobat Reader.

If your district prefers to maintain the system within the district network, our software will be licensed to operate on your local server or even a PC or Mac with minimal requirements (Microsoft Server 2003, 2GB Memory, 100 GB disk drive).
